These images are part of a body of work in progress.
Knowing my passion for clothes and their mysteries, a friend with whom I had worked before in a collaborative project, had decided to give some of her old clothes to charity. Would I like to take some photos before them parting? It was the autumn of 2002.
I titled the series “The poetics of clothes”. I give emphasis to my interest in photographing women’s clothes – clothes that have been worn – and their visual qualities.
To dress, to adorn a woman’s body. In these clothes I see stories unfolding. Intimate stories that might or might not have happened. The suggestion is the aim of my personal expression.
