Abound – 2008.
Contemplative boundaries in anonymous neighbourhoods are depicted as metaphors of life’s alternative direction and unfamiliar routes which have been encapsulated through the photographic platform. Abound permits the cathartic opportunity to face anxieties regarding social and financial security in an uncertain financial climate. These fears are concealed within the splendour and beauty of the period homes’ garden boundaries of aging fences, mature shrubbery and magnificent trees. The stillness and greenery of the images appears inviting, although the dark emptiness and lack of visibility creates an ambiguity, a false security. The late evening permits an opportunity to roam free with less restriction than the curtailing daylight hours.
