Artist Statement
Annabelle studied photography at Cégep du Vieux Montréal, Quebec. In 1999, she undertook a photographic research on the transformation and representation of reality. In 2000, she moved to Paris and held her first exhibition at the 19th District City Hall. In less than two years she held six exhibitions (Galerie 17, Espace Allery-France Télécom, 11iem Mois Bis de la Photographie...) and diffused her work very actively throughout Internet, publicizing on various websites. Annabelle also published articles about photography on espacephoto.org. In 2003, she had a exhibition in Spain, at Galeria Zero, Barcelona. She began also a collaboration with Perdurado art with whom she did exhibitions in London and New-york. Since 2004, she has been spending time both in Paris and Madrid and stay ponctually in Quebec where she do her’s shooting. She do by herself the prints at Self Color in Paris. Then, in 2005-06 she did a collective exhibition in Guanzhu and at Xiamen University, China. And, for the Hans Cristan Andersen's Festival, with Crissolart Galleries she has taken part in a travelling exhibition in Denmark (Copenhagen Rahuset, Alborg Kunst museum, Ribe Amt Kunst Museum). And she is a represented of Canada at Florence’ Biennal. In 2006 she did a exhibition at L’espace Contemporain. She worked to Casa Encendida, Obra social Caja Madrid, on a serie of 30 photographies in black and white. She stay in London. Her work is part of the permanent exhibitions Galerie De Visu in France. She figures in the Drouot quotation’s 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2007 dictionaries. Some of her pictures can also be found as part of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France’s collection and Casa Encendida, as well as in some private collections both in Europe and in America.Artist Statement Resume Image Thumbnails Printable Version
